Web Site FAQ's
In order for people to be able to call you have to have a phone number. On the web this is your domain name. So the first thing you do is register a domain name. This is done through a domain registrar. We are a Domain Registrar and you may register your domain through us by clicking here or use any other registrar.

During the registration process you will need to set the Name Servers to point to us. Name Servers are like your entry in the phone book. You will need to set the Name Servers to NS3.INTERRAHOST.COM and NS5.INTERRAHOST.COM so that they point to where we are hosting your web site.

Once you have setup your Name Servers you need to get your web site built. There are many tools that help build basic sites or you may contact us and we can help advise you on the process and help you work with our web designers. Once your website is built it will need to be uploaded to our servers

Next you want to see your web site. It will take 48-72 hours from when you configure the Name Servers (either at registration or later if you already had the site) and loaded your web site onto our servers. The Name Servers are like the phone book. When you get a new phone number people can’t just instantly open the phone book and find you – you have to wait for the phone book companies to print a new book. This is what happens on the internet as well – except that the internet re-publishes the phone book every 12-24 hours and you need to wait for all the old phonebooks to be updated.

The next thing that needs to happen is to get your website listed on the search engines. Each search engine uses a different method but the two primary methods are through META Tags and through web links. META Tags are a list of words embedded in your web site that describe what you do. We have affiliate services that can help you do this or you can go to each of the search engines and do it yourself.
Name Servers are similar to a phone book. The Name Servers tell people on the Internet where to find your web site. If they are not set to NS3.INTERRAHOST.COM and NS5.INTERRAHOST.COM then your web site (and email if we host that also) will not work.
First, check your name servers by going to www.netsol.com and clicking on Who Is. Enter your domain name (without the www) and it will tell you what your name servers are. If they are incorrect you need to contact your Domain Registrar (the company you registered your domain with) and work with them. The Who Is information should also tell you who they are if you aren’t sure. If you registered through our web site please feel free to contact us if you are having a problem and our kind and freindly staff will be happy to help you.
If you have purchased it outside of us we can't answer that question but you can try looking at the Who Is information on your site by following the directions in 'How do I change my Name Server' question. If you purchased your domain through us you own your own domain..

Email FAQ's
If you select our Services link and follow the directions for the type of email account you purchased you should have no problems but you may contact us if you need additional assistance.
Email accounts come with 20MB of space. Additional space can be purchased but we have found most users do not need more than this.
We allow files up to 8MB in size (attachment and email) to be sent and received through our server.
You will get warnings from the server as you get close. Eventually you will not be allowed to send emails until you reduce your mailbox to its authorized limit. Finally we will stop accepting emails for you as well and notify the sender that you have exceeded your limits.
Secure email is fully encrypted using 128 bit encryption between our server and your client over our Secure Outlook Web Access - POP3 email is not secure. If you send emails they will only be secure until they reach our server. If our email server has to forward the email on to another server we cannot guarantee that the email will be transmitted securely. So we only guarantee secure email delivery our servers and you.
You may change your password for FTP, user accounts, Web Mail, and/or POP3 mail by going to our Services link and selecting the Change Password link.
Please visit our Services link and follow the directions. If your POP email client is not listed there please contact the maker of your POP email client for more information.
We use two types of SPAM filtering. The first type is a block list. Block lists prevent email from even entering our server. We use two block lists. The first is relays.ordb.org. This is a list of servers that are known to allow people to send unauthenticated messages (relay) which are commonly used by spammers. The second is sbl.spamhaus.org. This is a list of known servers that send SPAM email and are owned/used/authorize SPAM. We do not accept any emails from any server listed on this list. If you have someone sending you an email from one of these servers they will need to contact these groups and get their servers de-listed. It is their fault they got listed and their responsibility to correct. We cannot make any exceptions here.

The second method we use is an advanced formula that calculates the probability an email is SPAM based on the words in the subject and email itself. We currently have these filters set at a confidence level of 95%. If the server is 95% confident or more that it is email we delete it. Since we began testing it we have not found one good email that was blocked.
We use Symantec’s anti-virus software to check every incoming and outgoing email for viruses. We update our virus patterns every hour to ensure we have the latest lists. While this does not guarantee that you won’t get a virus or send one to your clients it does significantly reduce your risk.
Yes. Any emails that were blocked by the block lists will not generate a message. We also do not give you messages on emails that we are 90% confident are SPAM. We do not do this because these blocked emails represent approximately 70% of all email sent to our servers and would overwhelm you essentially negating the usefulness of these services.
If you do not want these services we will be happy to help you find a different email provider.
